Established over 30 years ago, the Company is a successful manufacturer of high-quality polyethylene products to the Agriculture and Mining industries, with headquarters, and multiple regional offices, in WA. It has experienced exponential success since inception, with both organic and acquisitive growth, and is now embarking on an exciting new phase in the company’s history. As such, it is looking for a highly motivated Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic work at its HQ in Dalwallinu.

Scope of Duties

You will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services on a variety of Company owned vehicles. These include trucks, utes, cars and forklifts

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support a small team of mechanics, providing day-to-day supervision, task allocation, and ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all fleet breakdowns and urgent mechanical issues, coordinating timely responses and solutions.
  • Hands on mechanical duties, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, utes, cars, forklifts and associated equipment.
  • Order required parts and consumables from approved suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and timely availability.
  • Organise 3rd parties, if required, to carry out more complex vehicle repair
  • Report any major faults requiring repair
  • Record vehicle repair and maintenance information
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Observe and maintain a high level of safety at all times

Required Skills / Experience / Qualifications

  • Year-10 completion, with a trade qualification as a Mechanic,
  • 5+ years vehicle mechanic experience, preferably Diesel / Truck, with some Supervisory experience, or ability, preferred
  • Demonstrated vehicle maintenance and repair experience
  • Mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to meet commitments under pressure
  • Motivation, maturity, autonomy and the ability to work with a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised

This is a long-term position in a friendly and flexible workplace with a competitive salary package.

The role will be based in the wheatbelt, approximately 2.5 hours’ drive from Perth. The successful candidate will have the option of relocating, for which assistance will be provided, or Drive-in / Drive-out (Monday to Friday), for which accommodation assistance will be provided.
