The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Technical Officer – Mechanical to join us in our Operations & Maintenance team in Darwin on a full time basis.

Reporting to the Regional Manager Darwin, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, reliability and improvement of high-pressure pipeline to meet customer requirements. All our NT Team are residential employees, drive company issued vehicles and have a great work life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain pipeline and associated facilities (including equipment, stations, bases, grounds, vehicles & workshop) to reliably deliver energy for our customers.
  • Knowledge of Right of Way Maintenance for pipeline structures.
  • Third Party Awareness and Landowner Relations – assist and communicate as required.
  • Contribute to the safe culture of the APA Group, looking out for your colleagues, our community, environment and yourself in accordance with APA’s HSE procedures.
  • Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System to plan and record all the maintenance activities.

Your background

  • Mechanical trade or equivalent work experience in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance within heavy industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect and basic instrumentation an advantage.
  • Current manual driver’s licence.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities to maintain operations.
  • Able to work autonomously and in remote locations.
  • Able to work on call and attend to overtime as required.
