SENIOR HEAVY VEHICLE DIESEL MECHANIC: Join Australia’s Leading Sustainable Materials Supplier
 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Laverton North Workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leadership role in maintaining and repairing our road transport fleet, earthmoving equipment, and machinery.
 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the maintenance and repair of our truck fleet, with the option to work on heavy earthmoving machinery.

  • Diagnose complex mechanical / electrical issues and provide effective solutions.

  • Oversee inspections, ensuring vehicles meet safety and operational standards.

  • Identify and manage the replacement of worn or damaged parts.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance services, ensuring accurate vehicle records are maintained.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior mechanics.

  • Ensure the completion and submission of all required paperwork and reports.

  • Attractive hourly rate starting from $50 per hour, plus penalties and superannuation.

  • Day shift/AM shifts, 6am – 4pm working times (plus additional hours if required)

  • Afternoon/PM shifts, flexible, can be 10am - 6pm or 12pm - 8pm (plus additional hours if required)

  • Rostered weekend work according to business needs

  • Access to an onsite vehicle for work-related / limited personal use

This role is a great fit if you:

  • Are a qualified Senior Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic with extensive experience.

  • Have a passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.

  • Experience with A/C and electrical systems

  • Are committed to maintaining a safe and efficient workshop environment.

  • Have in-depth experience with heavy equipment such as trucks and earthmoving machinery (preferred).

  • Have knowledge of Kenworth/Mack/Volvo equipment (preferred but not essential).

  • Enjoy working in a clean, modern, and well-lit workshop.

  • Thrive in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.
     

All successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screening. Random drug and alcohol tests are conducted on all Alex Fraser premises.
