About the role 

We’re seeking a Project Engineer - Mechanical and Electrical to take responsibility for the development, preparation and management of project plans, contract
and business case documentation, stakeholder management and a lot more!

As our Project Engineer - Mechanical and Electrical you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work. 

Day-to-day, you will: 

  • Bring strong stakeholder management skills, working with a team of internal and contract Project Managers and Engineers
  • Manage project costs and budgets, including monthly reporting
  • Plan and monitor Health and Safety
  • Undertake the Project Management function from time to time on projects as assigned by the Program Manager and Senior Project Managers.
  • Ensure effective contractor engagement and management including the development and implementation of works assurance plans
  • Share your knowledge by mentoring junior employees

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

  • A wealth of experience in all functions of project engineering, gained working in construction or engineering environments.
  • A Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with at least three years’ experience, ideally on road or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in projects with mechanical and electrical engineering (essential)
  • An understanding of quality management, asset management and maintenance practices.
  • Sound communication skills, including verbal communication skills, report writing and the preparation of concise management reports.
  • You have a background in transport infrastructure - tunnels, fans, lighting, deluge and fire systems
