Located in the heart of Townsville, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team and help to lead the team through our exciting growth plans. Reporting to the Company Director, this is a senior leadership role with opportunities to drive strategic initiatives and foster excellence in engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and lead a team of engineers, ensuring peak productivity and alignment with company values.
  • Oversee resource allocation, technical direction, and professional development.
  • Manage and deliver high-profile projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand and address technical requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure all deliverables meet industry and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Support business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  • Drive business growth by identifying industry trends and areas for innovation.
  • Work with senior management to shape long-term company strategies and growth.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
  • Chartered status (CPEng, RPEQ) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership and project management expertise in a consulting or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of fixed & mobile plant assets, plant maintenance, reliability practices, and industry regulations.
  • Experience in the mining sector, is highly desirable.
