We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plant Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of Hedweld’s vehicles, machinery, and equipment. You’ll work across workshop, Farm and site environments, ensuring our plant and equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs across vehicles, forklifts, tractors, earthmoving equipment, farm machinery, and Hedweld products.
- Respond to breakdowns and undertake emergency repairs both onsite, in the workshop and at Hedweld Farm
- Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules in line with business priorities.
- Complete engine rebuilds, component repairs, and major/minor maintenance as required.
- Record, report, and maintain compliance documentation for servicing, repairs, and defects.
- Liaise with staff, management, and customers to plan, quote, and deliver maintenance and repair works.
- Coordinate third-party repairs, warranty investigations, and customer technical support where needed.
About You
- Trade qualified Plant Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, or equivalent experience.
- Strong diagnostic, servicing, and repair skills across a variety of plant and equipment.
- Ability to respond to breakdowns and deliver cost-effective repair outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal teams and external customers.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
