The Role
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Mechanic ensures that all vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained to the highest safety and operational standards. This role contributes directly to fleet utilisation and customer satisfaction by delivering timely, professional mechanical support.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs in line with manufacturer and company standards.
Diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure minimal downtime.
Source parts and manage workshop tools and inventory.
Attend off-site breakdowns as required.
Keep accurate job records, timesheets, and maintenance logs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workshop.
Work collaboratively with branch and operations teams to ensure vehicles are ready for customers.
Skills and Experience Required
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification).
Minimum 3 years’ relevant, post-qualification experience.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Current driver’s licence (manual preferred).
Experience in RV, commercial, or fleet servicing highly regarded.
