About The Role 

An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated and experienced Mechanical Technician to join Iluka’s Jacinth-Ambrosia team.
 

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Coordinator, the primary function of the role is to assist in the optimisation of plant availability by carrying out maintenance tasks on fixed and mobile equipment in accordance with established Iluka standards, including safety and environmental procedures.
 

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Recommend and perform preventative maintenance routine inspections and carry out troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis

  • Solve reliability issues using fault finding abilities

  • Continual assessment of the process, equipment and procedures as well as troubleshooting problems
     

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:

  • A mechanical trade certificate – fitting and machining/ boilermaker

  • A valid ‘C’ class drivers licence

  • Ability to supervise contractors and small site projects

  • Good numerical, literacy and computer skills with proficiency in SAP or similar application

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team, while also demonstrating initiative and an ability to work independently

  • High standard of behaviours that align with Iluka’s values of integrity, respect, courage, accountability and collaboration

  • You will have the ability to clearly articulate maintenance issues and recommend solutions
