The opportunity

The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - A new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. At completion of stage 1 the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year.

Acciona are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead and manage the Mechanical Fitters within the O&M Team. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the mechanical maintenance activities are carried out efficiently, aligning with water quality and Plant availability targets, maintenance budgets, and long-term Plant durability. You will oversee planned preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and coordinate the team's efforts

Key accountabilities for the position:

  • Lead and supervise the Mechanical Fitters to maintain the Plant to specified standards outlined in the O&M plans
  • Manage and coordinate a variety of maintenance-related tasks, including planned and reactive maintenance, subcontractor management, supplier liaison, and budget
  • Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety, environmental, and company requirements
  • Oversee and ensure that all maintenance work is performed professionally, timely, and safely, while maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
  • Collaborate with the team to establish and review QA and maintenance procedures and site instructions, recommending improvements as needed
  • Receive and verify maintenance-related deliveries to the site, including documentation, quantities, and quality
  • Foster a high level of technical expertise within the team, promote personal development, and maintain strong interpersonal and business skills
  • Fulfil other duties as requested by senior management

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (e.g., Fitting & Machining)
  • High-Risk Work Licence (e.g., Dogging, Rigging, Crane, EWP)
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
  • Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certification
  • Construction White Card
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence
  • Significant experience with rotating equipment
