Mechanical Supervisor

The Mechanical Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations within our OEM Longwall overhaul facility. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and organisational skills to ensure that targets are met efficiently while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols.

The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for:

• Direct supervision to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with managers and other supervisors to develop and implement schedules and workflows, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and timely completion of orders.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring workload distribution and adherence to schedules.
• Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems, including HVAC, pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialised repairs and services as needed.
• Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and downtime metrics.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter

• Underground Experience, or previous experience overhauling underground mining equipment.

• HRWL is highly desirable.

• Working at Heights

• Hydraulics 2.0

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

• Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices, with experience in implementing quality management systems.
