What are we looking for?
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical/Diesel Fitter/ Machinist with potential leading hand qualities to join our rapidly growing team. Initial focus will be hands on running the day-to-day duties, working closely with supervision and management to successfully complete site awarded contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for career progression and would strongly suit a self-motivated person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment, such as engines, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
- Fabricate and assemble mechanical components and systems according to technical specifications and blueprints.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing all tasks.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Work closely with other team members, including project managers and coordinators, to ensure seamless execution.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure timely procurement of necessary materials to avoid project delays.
- Provide guidance and training to trade assistances and apprentices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices through continuous learning.
- Be prepared to respond to emergency repair situations on marine vessels, ensuring minimal downtime and operational disruption.
What do we need from you?
- White Card is essential
- Valid and relevant trade qualifications (Mechanical or Diesel Fitter), certificates and licenses
- At least 2 years post-trade experience
- Current drivers’ license with reliable transport
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to complete ongoing physically demanding tasks
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- Ability to manage teams and work well with small crews

- Confined Space Entry
- Fire Sentry Training
- Working at Heights
- High-Risk Forklift
- Commercial and Defence marine vessel experience
