We have three vacancies for experienced Maintenance Mechanical Fitters to join our site's Mechanical Maintenance Team. These roles involve delivering safe and efficient maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding for our assets.

Shifts Available: 6:00am to 2:00pm, 2:00pm - 10:00pm and 10:00pm - 6:00am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and install mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure optimal performance and safety of all mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Engage in Weir SHEQ culture.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals.
  • Focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production.
  • Resolve operational and technical equipment problems to minimize processing/manufacturing interruptions due to equipment breakdowns/failures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Install, assemble, and test new machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, Division, and Group policies & procedures.
  • Value safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety requirements, including Zero Harm.


 
 Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering cert III.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical fitter in a heavy industrial manufacturing or mining environment
  • Experience with the service, fault finding, and repair of foundry and CNC machinery is desirable
  • Competent at basic MIG welding is desirable but not essential
  • Confined Space and Work at Heights Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate and write reports
  • Competent with the use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
