About the Role
- We are looking for a qualified mechanical fitter to start immediately at our Larapinta site. This role also involves servicing key locations throughout Southeast Queensland, including Brisbane Airport, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast.
- Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional weekend overtime.
- This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity.
- 3 Rotating shifts: AM shift - 500am–106pm. PM shift - 1154am–800pm. Dayshift – 600am – 206pm. You must be available for both shifts.
- Hourly rate of $48.90 plus 15% loading for afternoon shifts. Overtime applies to all non-standard hours.
- Uniforms and tools provided.
- Fully equipped team engineering van supplied for servicing regional sites. (Larapinta based)
- Maintain sortation systems and related depot equipment to always ensure peak performance.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance, including preventative, predictive, corrective, and project-related tasks.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and system faults.
- Contribute to the design of innovative systems and facility improvements as operational needs evolve.
- Use and maintain the MEX computerised maintenance management system effectively.
- Support the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Adhere to all maintenance timetables and ensure compliance.
- Identify and diagnose mechanical or electrical faults.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of system enhancements.
- Carry out maintenance activities in line with established practices and procedures.
- Provide support and training to operational staff on equipment usage.
- Maintain and organised inventory of critical spare parts.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and remain in good condition.
What You'll Bring
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter.
- Strong ability to work independently.
- Team player with the capability to work effectively within a small engineering group.
- Skilled in collaborating with operations staff.
- Calm, logical, and methodical approach to work.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within complex industrial environments.
- Experience with and the ability to track and tension conveyor belts.
- General understanding of high-speed conveyor systems for cartons and packages.
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project work experience.
- Competency in stick and MIG welding.
- Familiarity with MEX or similar computerised maintenance systems.
- Valid driver’s licence.
