Join our team as a Mechanical Fitter!

 

 

As the Mechanical Fitter you will ensure the effective day to day operation, maintenance, monitoring of Pumping Stations and Wastewater Treatment Plants across Redland City. You will work as part of a team while maintaining a harmonious and productive workplace.

Guided by our Values, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Being responsible for implementing and complying with Council's Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection requirements.
  • Providing accurate technical advice and knowledge to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring SCADA and Telemetry Systems.
  • Undertaking various administration functions.

 

 

We would love to hear from you or someone you know who:

 

  • Preferably has experience/willing to learn operating, maintaining and repairing Pump Stations in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
  • Can bring their knowledge of environmental issues, practices and legal requirements relevant to the environmental impacts of the onsite operations.
  • Work well in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving/fault finding skills.
  • Is capable to perform a variety of administrative functions where you will be required to use a computer.

Eligibility

 

  • You'll have trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
  • You'll have a current MR Class Driver's Licence, or be willing to obtain it within your probation period.
  • You'll be able to participate in the Water & Waste Operations after hours on call roster in a Level 1 response role (on-site and/or remote response), and availability for site related operations over weekends, public holidays or other overtime work.
  • You'll hold a Construction Industry Safety Induction Card, or be willing to obtain it within your probation period.
  • You'll have the ability to obtain and retain a Confined Space Entry certification.
  • To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
