THE ROLE

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing hydraulic systems and solutions for various applications across industries such as manufacturing, construction, aerospace, and automotive. You will work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver customized hydraulic solutions to meet their specific needs. Your role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, conducting analyses, and ensuring the successful integration of hydraulic components into existing or new systems.

This is a Permanent, Full Time (Mon-Friday 38 hours a week) role to start immediately. Salary offered is $130,000 – $140,000 per annum + super.

YOUR ROLE

Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with clients to understand their hydraulic system requirements, including performance specifications, operating conditions, and

environmental constraints.

System Design: Design hydraulic systems and components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and actuators, using CAD software and hydraulic modeling tools.

Component Selection: Select appropriate hydraulic components based on performance, reliability, and cost considerations, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.

Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes of hydraulic systems for testing and validation purposes, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure compliance with

design specifications and industry standards.

Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle, offering guidance on hydraulic system design, installation, operation,

and troubleshooting.

Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, and reports, to communicate design concepts, requirements,

and implementation guidelines.

Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of hydraulic solutions within scope and cost constraints.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in hydraulic technology, industry trends, and best practices, and incorporate innovative solutions to enhance the

performance and reliability of hydraulic systems.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in hydraulic system design, development, and implementation, preferably in a relevant industry.
  • Strong Technical background and understanding of engineering processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, hydraulic modelling tools, and simulation software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex hydraulic systems and optimize performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
