About the Role:

We’re Growing — and We’re Looking for Great People.  We’re a team that takes pride in doing our best from what each day brings — from high-quality fabrication to safe, well-planned project delivery and installations.  We are looking for a skilled, qualified, and motivated Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson.  The Engineering Draftsman is required to convert designs into technical plans and drawings that are developed for a project and protect and sustain them through the project stages until the project is finalised

 What we’re looking for:

Trade Qualification:

  • Engineering/Trade qualifications or relevant work experience.
  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering will be highly regarded.

Technical experience

  • Competent mechanical aptitude and knowledge in both the production & manufacturing methodologies.
  • Produce detailed mechanical drawings for parts & assemblies in SolidWorks
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant drafting standards (e.g. AS1100 or similar)
  • Excellent computer skills incl. know-how of computer-based drawing applications and design software (SolidWorks, Vault, etc.)
  • Managing drawings within a Product Data Management (PDM) environment
  • Ability to identify issues, obstacles, and opportunities and then develop and implement effective solutions with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with engineers and project teams in a professional engineering environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidently work under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities.

In addition to the above, you must be able to

  • Pass a pre-employment, medical including drug and alcohol screening
  • Provide GTE with 2 professional references (following interview)
