Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative mechanical solutions for Green Gravity’s Gravity Energy Storage Systems (GESS). This role requires a highly inquisitive and action-oriented engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges using first principles thinking and novel approaches.

The Mechanical Engineer will drive hypothesis-based investigations, defining and testing solution concepts through rigorous engineering analysis, scaled testing, and iterative refinement. They will carry out their own engineering work while also preparing scopes and coordinating external subject matter experts to accelerate learning and solution development. This role will provide key technical and organizational capabilities to scope, plan, execute, review, and analyze test programs for key subsystems.

Responsibilities:

  • Scope, plan, execute, review, and analyze test programs for key subsystem prototypes and beyond
  • Conduct testing and analysis of mechanical systems to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, test results, recommendations, and reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk, SolidEdge etc.)
  • Experience with mechanical testing and analysis techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
