We’re seeking an exceptional Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design, fabrication and commissioning of engineered components and manufacturing factory fit-out. This role is based in Noosa with opportunities for rapid career progression for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, assemble, install and maintain mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring proper fit, alignment and function.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures; disassemble, inspect, diagnose and implement on-the-spot corrective actions.
- Perform precision measurements (calipers, micrometers) and validate tolerances against engineering drawings.
- Lead hands-on commissioning of new machinery, including piping, wiring, sensors and control integration.
- Conduct maintenance on pumps, mixers, reactors and auxiliary equipment, documenting all service activities.
- Capture “as-built” changes: update 3D models after field modifications or prototype iterations (SolidWorks).
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for machined and fabric Rogeated parts (SolidWorks).
- Maintain BOMs, build logs and records within the PLM system; flag obsolete parts and find replacements.
- Collaborate with Engineers and Production Technicians to refine streamline workflows, and improve (OEE).
- Uphold a safe and organized workspace: inventories, enforce lockout/tagout, and conduct regular safety audits.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and tolerance stack‑up analyses.
- Support prototyping activities and oversee vendor-supplied mechanical components.
- Interface with quality and product test labs to fine tune mechanical acceptance operational criteria.
- Specify materials and sealing methods resistant to corrosion, biofouling, and sterilization cycles, and optimise cleaning‐in‐place (CIP) fixtures and protocols for routine maintenance.
- Work collaboratively across teams to support scale-up activities and integration of new technology.
Base Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience in engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products in a construction, mechanical, or manufacturing background.
- Manufacturing and production facilities experience.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Operate forklift and scissor lifts desirable.
- Experience with plastic welding, plastic fabrication & polymer assembly methods.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
- Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment.
