About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Draftsperson on full time basis to join our team located at our Kwinana Pigment Plant, approx. 35 minutes south of Perth.
This position will be permanent, full time, working a 38-hour week compressed into a 9-day fortnight, every second Friday off! Enjoy flexible start and finish times that best suit you.
Reporting to the Leader, Capital Projects, you will be responsible for managing the drafting process, including updates to drawings, asset documentation, and technical specifications. You will develop plans and design materials using established and emerging techniques.
In this role, you will assess project feasibility, gather and analyse design data, utilise available equipment and instruments, specify appropriate materials, and support prototype development.
Key Responsibilities
- Updates Tronox engineering drawings (eg P&ID, engineering data sheets, mechanical drawings etc) in accordance to Tronox Management of Change process
- Develop or coordinate the preparation of engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering specification sheets and other data - ensuring work shall be carried out to Tronox and Regional Standards, specifications and procedures.
- Ensure that the latest developments and techniques in regard to software and hardware in the engineering field are adhered to for the efficient production of all engineering and drafting work.
- Ensure that all consultants/contractors doing work for Tronox are supplied with the current Tronox specifications and procedures.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets - checking and verifying design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Control and register all design and drafting documents issues to Tronox by its consultants/contractors.
- Provide support to Operations and the Technology and Development group.
About You
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Engineering Drafting/Design
- Experience with CAD software
- SAP experience (advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach towards building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate sound work ethics, commitment, and the ability to work with others to achieve common goals.
- Assist in developing new team members knowledge and skills and participate in their ‘on the job’ training
