Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week) – 9 day fortnight

The role:
Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team and help keep our fleet, plant and equipment operating safely and efficiently in support of essential community services. As a Mechanic, you will play a key role in maintaining Council’s diverse fleet of plant, machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for the timely diagnosis, repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment to ensure they remain safe, reliable and ready for use. This hands-on role offers variety and technical challenge, where your mechanical skills and problem-solving ability will contribute to the smooth and effective delivery of Council operations.

- A salary range from $1376.60 – $1541.80 per week (based on relevant skills and experience) + 12% superannuation + allowances
- A true 38 hour working week, Monday – Friday

What You Will Need:
To be successful in this role, you must:
 - Hold a recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, including Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or a related field).
 - Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and servicing of vehicle and plant fleets.
 - Proven experience working with both diesel and petrol engines.
 - Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
 - Experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant, trucks, construction vehicles, passenger vehicles, and small plant/equipment.
