Heidelberg Materials Australia is currently looking for a highly motivated and skilled Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team responsible for maintaining tippers at Kulnura Quarry on the Central Coast of NSW. 

As a qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial part in our operations by delivering top-notch mechanical services, including repairs, maintenance, and servicing for our extensive plant, equipment, and vehicle fleet. It is essential for this role that you have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation due to the varying shift schedules. This is a full-time position, with the opportunity for regular overtime, including Saturdays.

We welcome applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Fully qualified as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.

  • Hold a MR or HR class licence or are willing to obtain their MR licence with a view to progressing to HR licence.

In your new position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the condition of vehicles through inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn or damaged parts.

  • Keeping equipment available for use by following preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Adhering to federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine performance, safety features, and combustion control standards.

  • Recording vehicle services and repairs in the appropriate documentation.

  • Attending to vehicle breakdowns and performing roadside repairs when necessary.

This role is an excellent fit for you if you:

  • Possess good communication skills.

  • Have the ability to think on your feet.

  • Have a strong focus on following processes and completing tasks efficiently.

  • Have a good understanding of electronic diesel engines and hydraulics.

  • Hold a current HR or higher driver's licence (preferred).

  • Have experience working with Mack, Volvo or Man vehicles (preferred).

All successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screening. Random drug and alcohol tests are conducted on all Heidelberg Mterials premises.
