Due to this growth, we have an opportunity for a suitably qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our ever-expanding team on a permanent basis.  The role will answer to the National After-sales and Service Manager and will be based out of our modern workshop located in Prestons.  You will not only perform general day to day service work, but you will also support the installation and maintenance of modern vehicle safety systems and get to work on new technology including Electric vehicles. You will be required to assist our customer and repair network. Can be home based with the requirement to attend our Prestons workshop regularly. This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your knowledge and skills in this area.

Key requirements of the role –

• Mechanical servicing and repairs including engine, hydraulics, auto electrical and braking systems.
• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Test drive vehicles after service/repairs in a safe and courteous manner.
• Record accurate hours spent on Repair Orders.
• Always present a professional dress standard and image.
• Support, lead and promote sustainability practices in the workplace in conjunction with management direction.
• Sound time management skills.
• Sound written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to liaise with customers in a courteous manner.
• Sound knowledge of O.H & S. Maintain and comply with all Workers Health and Safety directives and standards
• By the General Manager or a Director of the company.
• Support, lead and promote sustainability practices in the workplace in conjunction with management direction.
• Show a dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance.
• Comply with and follow all VDI policies and procedures when it comes to our required documentation

Who we are looking for –

• The successful candidate must be able to travel as and when required across the whole of New South Wales to support the after-sales and warranty department.
• Electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle experience will be highly regarded however not necessary as full training will be provided
• Have the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
• Be a quick thinker and good have good problem-solving skills
• Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, client, and suppliers
• Be trade qualified with post trade experience – Preferably heavy Diesel mechanical trade
• MR Licence is essential

Auto Electrician and Airconditioning qualifications will be highly regarded.
