What’s on offer?

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Field Service Mechanic to complement our experienced Fleet Workshop based in Hazelmere, Perth WA. Working Monday to Friday with overtime and weekends, this role is offering a competitive hourly rate plus penalties and superannuation. Monthly RDO, site and field secondments are also available.

Based out of our modern well-equipped workshop, you will drive in and out of our local and remote working sites supporting our Construction, Asphalt and Spray Seal business units. Working with Site Supervisors to service, maintain, repair, and add value to our field operations. As an integral part of our internal business support function, you will have flexible working arrangements which will allow for a positive work life balance, whilst helping prevent field-based breakdowns.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will have the support of our experienced workshop team and access to a fully set up field support vehicle. Some shift work may be required from time to time.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Field and Workshop based duties including site visits for breakdowns, servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Major and minor servicing of plant and equipment including road transport. As well as a repairs and fault-finding hydraulics, pneumatics electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ordering parts for assigned tasks and diagnosing and repairing a wide range of systems.
  • Modifying and upgrading systems to meet safety and ergonomic requirements.
  • Rebuilding of components testing and commissioning on installation.
  • Upskilling operations teams in site daily maintenance requirements

We are seeking:

  • A trade qualified plant mechanic or motor trade experience within a site construction-based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a workshop or site maintenance environment with fault diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised servicing and maintaining our modern civil, heavy road transport and asphalting fleet.
  • Valid manual drivers licence essential.
  • Self-starter with initiative and desire to mentor apprentices.
