  • Base Salary HEO9, $140,913 p.a. + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a highly motivated Facilities Manager (Mechanical) to join our dynamic Central Operations Services (COS) team and take ownership of mechanical operations across the University’s portfolio covering Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, critical infrastructure, energy optimisation and emergency response queries.

As a key member of the COS team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, performance, and continuous improvement of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems across the University’s diverse estate, which includes heritage-listed buildings, modern teaching spaces, and cutting-edge research facilities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • manage the delivery of reactive and corrective works derived from PPM

  • respond to and resolve client requests and queries

  • work with contractors to deliver services across the University

  • manage complex technical challenges, ensuring that every aspect of the facility runs smoothly and efficiently

  • manage day-to-day asset operations, from effective procurement processes to managing asset maintenance

  • work collaboratively to streamline risk management protocols, address workplace health and safety proactively, and prepare for internal evaluations.

About you

  • an equivalent combination of relevant training and Mechanical Services qualifications

  • 5+ years of delivering Facility Management services to a diversified portfolio

  • experience in people management, including managing staff performance and development

  • demonstrated skills and experience in critical thinking and decision making

  • ability to working in a team environment and has strong communication skills.
