We are seeking Electrical and Mechanical Wind Turbine Technicians to join our team. AARC are based on multiple sites across the region. We are specifically looking for candidates located in WA.
The role of the Wind Technician encompasses the installation, mechanical and electrical completions, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines on a wind farm site. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The Wind Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functionality of wind turbines and compliance with industry standards throughout their lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on wind turbine components
- Perform maintenance on turbine blades, gearboxes, generators, and other key systems
- Document all work completed and maintain detailed records of turbine performance
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
- Provide technical support and mentoring to less experienced team members as required
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, preferably in a FIFO/DIDO role
- Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely at heights and in remote locations
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules to meet the needs of the business
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Vestas, GE, Goldwind WTG experience not essential but highly desirable.
- Current GWO/ART trained – Highly desirable.
- High Risk Work Licensing (Rigging & Dogging, Mobile Crane, EWP)
- Heavy Vehicle License (HC/MC)
- Fiber Repair or Fiber Repair Experience for Blade Techs
