Summary:
The Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and implementing mechanical systems and equipment in the manufacturing, transportation, and logistics industry. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, vocational or trade school certification in mechanical repair or a similar field, and proven experience as a Mechanic in a manufacturing, transportation, or logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical problems, carry out repairs and maintenance, and replace parts as necessary.
- Undertake regular maintenance checks to ensure machinery and equipment is operating smoothly and efficiently.
- Install and set up new machinery and equipment in accordance with specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication and adjusting, to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Carry out safety checks on equipment and report any anomalies or hazards.
- Monitor and maintain supply inventory for assigned equipment to ensure availability of required parts and consumables.
- Work with other members of maintenance team to test new equipment for functionality and safety.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Document work orders and repair records to ensure accountability and transparency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Vocational or trade school certification in mechanical repair or similar field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanic in a manufacturing, transportation or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
