Our team is growing, and we're looking for a qualified Diesel Fitter Mechanic to join us at our Swanbank Landfill site and help keep our essential fleet safe, maintained, and operational.

The opportunity

You’ll be working across a diverse range of vehicles and mobile equipment, including trucks, trailers, generators, and compressors. Your main responsibilities will include routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and attending to breakdowns.

What you’ll be doing

  • Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and more
  • Performing regular servicing, lubrication, and preventative maintenance
  • Testing engine performance and fine-tuning for optimal operation
  • Rebuilding engines and fabricating or repairing parts when required
  • Using specialized tools and mechanical equipment to solve problems
  • Responding to breakdowns on-site

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle, Mobile Plant, Light Vehicle Mechanic, or Auto-Electrician
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment
  • Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative, professional team
  • A background in road transport, plant equipment, or similar fields is desirable
