The Water Group

Our Water team promotes holistic, sustainable water resource management for governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations, helping with network maintenance and development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and future-ready strategies.

About the role:

As a Cadet Mechanical Drafter, you will be a valued member of WSP in Australia's Adelaide-based Water Engineering team, contributing your drafting skills to a diverse portfolio of water engineering projects.

You will work with a talented team of experienced Engineers and Designers who embrace WSP's commitment to nurturing and developing the next generation of diverse Changemakers through mentorship and structured development programs. In this role you will:

  • Work within a multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Learn how to prepare drawings for issue
  • Plan and manage your work to meet deadlines
  • Learn to apply the relevant design guidelines and standards to drawings
  • Provide input into proposals, demonstrating understanding of project needs in relation to design drafting.

About You:

  • TAFE qualification in Engineering or equivalent, or working towards qualification
  • Some experience with design packages such 12D and/or AutoCAD would be great
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel)
  • An enthusiasm to learn and develop in your career
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Natural connector
