About the Role:

We are recruiting a Yard Labourer / Machine Operator to work at our Hallam site, with a position available in our bark & mulch/soil yard. This position plays a key role in contributing to the day-to-day functionality and operational requirements of the yard.

This is a full-time ongoing position, with an immediate start available. This position is rostered for our day shift which is Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm, with Saturday work also available.

Duties will likely include (but not be limited to):


  • Communicate with plant operators, truck drivers and the office via UHF radio regarding site operations and movements around the yard

  • Assist in unloading the timber vehicles that come into the yard

  • Drive forklift when required to unload trucks and move heavy items around the yard

  • Report any property damage and defective equipment/vehicles to management/maintenance

  • Take all necessary precautions to prevent damage or loss to property, equipment, or vehicles in the yard

  • Drive Fire Truck around yard for dust suppression

  • Refill Fire Truck after every use ensuring that the water and fuel tanks are left full at the end of the day in case of an afterhours emergency

  • Ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy

  • Ensure all procedures for dealing with the public and operating plant and equipment are followed

  • Ensure appearance, equipment and vehicles are kept clean and tidy

Requirements:


  • Loader Ticket - Essential

  • Forklift license - Essential

  • Whitecard - Strongly preferred

  • Excavator ticket - Preferred but not essential

  • HR/HC License - Preferred but not essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position

  • General computer experience and the ability to use mobile devices (tablets/smartphones)

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with different stakeholders via UHF, phone, and in-person

  • Australian Driver’s License

  • Right to work in Australia

  • Police check and pre-employment medical including alcohol and drug screening (to be completed during the recruitment process).
