The Workshop Fitter / Fabricator is responsible for executing fabrication and fitting tasks according to daily schedules and approved technical documents. The Workshop Fitter / Fabricator will ensure quality, safety, and compliance with standards and work collaboratively in a dynamic and diverse team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fabrication and fitting activities as per daily schedules and project requirements
- Fabricate and fit components according to the latest approved drawings, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), weld maps, welding procedures, and assembly protocols
- Conduct self-checks and inspections post-fabrication or assembly to verify the quality and accuracy of the completed work
- Identify and undertake necessary weld repairs as per the approved weld repair procedures
- Prepare and organize required tools, materials, and activities in advance to facilitate seamless workflow
- Adhere strictly to the company's safety rules and practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform pre-fabrication and pre-fitting checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and good industry standards
- Carry out assigned tasks in compliance with the company's ISO standards and quality management system
- Ensure technical accuracy and quality in all completed tasks
- Support the stores team with packing, loading, and unloading materials
- Support the site service teams when necessary for on-site fabrication or fitting tasks
- The Management reserves the right to assign additional duties or modify the job scope based on operational requirements and company needs.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding, Petroleum/Oil & Gas Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in fabrication and welding within an industrial setting, preferably in the oil, gas, or mining sectors
- Holder of Forklift license
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
- Hands-on experience with various welding processes, including GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, and SAW
- Basic knowledge of computer applications
- Strong communication and team-building skills in a multicultural environment
- A proactive, “can do" attitude to drive tasks forward and manage team efforts effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to additional tasks based on operational needs and site service work requirements
