Welder

Expressions of Interest for a WELDER required to join the AUSPAN Gnowangerup team.

About The Role:

The Welder will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards in the production of structural steel frames.

The Main Responsibilities Would Include:

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks
• Ascertain correct weld types for use based on project needs
• Field install welds, including duct work, light fixtures, vents, fans, metal sheeting and other parts
• Coordinate with field labour crew for efficient installations
• Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture

About You – Skills and Experience

• Welder trade qualification
• Proven experience working in a welder position
• Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to mark up construction drawings and specifications with as-built status.
• Manage welding work and ensure compliance to all specifications to perform defect work.
• Safely operate various manual and automated welding equipment for welding work
• High level attention to detail.
• Proficiency in time management and prioritisation of tasks.

AUSPAN Group is a WA family-owned D&C building company, with a successful track record of delivering buildings for industrial, commercial, mining & agricultural clients. This position will be based in our Canning Vale office and Gnowangerup. We also have offices in Albany, Toodyay and Geraldton.

The Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to pass a functional pre-employ medical including drug and alcohol screen.
• Hold a current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
• Provide a National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months.
• Be health, safety and environmentally conscious
• Display a collaborative teamwork style with well-honed conflict resolution skills
• The ability to make practical decisions under pressure.
