Role Summary:
This position is responsible for welding parts and components for equipment, products, and installations using MIG, MAG, TIG, electrode welds, or other welding applications. As part of a customer-focused team, you will work under tight deadlines, solve challenging mechanical problems, and collaborate with the manager throughout the work process to ensure quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Select and apply the appropriate welding method, such as TIG, MIG, MAG, or stick.
Plan and lay out work based on blueprints and manufacturers’ specifications using shop math and measuring instruments.
Set up and operate a conventional lathe for the preparation of welded parts.
Identify materials correctly and ensure proper component preparation.
Perform assembly activities during production.
Conduct welding repairs on raw and finished parts.
Execute welding installations based on technical drawings.
Complete assigned welding tasks in accordance with operational instructions.
Verify the quality of completed work, ensuring compliance with specifications and workmanship standards.
Meet production targets related to efficiency, schedules, and scrap reduction.
Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues.
Collaborate with machinists and assemblers to discuss and address repair and equipment challenges.
Accurately record data in computer-based systems or manual logs.
Understand and manage the process flow of documents, materials, and parts through the repair or manufacturing cycle.
Maintain a safe working environment by wearing protective equipment, following safety procedures, and completing necessary training.
Clean and maintain machines, tools, and workspace.
Conduct heat treatment operations as per relevant instructions or process documents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Welding experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.
Ability to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to welding.
Strong customer-service mindset with a focus on on-time delivery and quality work.
Valid welder certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
PT and MT-related certifications.
Experience in post-weld heat treatment.
Strong technical understanding.
