Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (BTAC) is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) for the Thalanyji People.
BTAC is seeking two (2) individuals who are interested in or already qualified Tyre Fitters to assist in a newly created business venture. Apprentices and Trainees will also be considered.
The Tyre Fitter role will include tyre, rim and wheel maintenance activities to all HME, light vehicle (LV) and ancillary equipment as directed and governed by ad hoc or planned testing and diagnosis; repair, tyre and wheel change out activities.
Key Deliverables
• Accountable for safe, efficient use or operation and compliant condition of tools and equipment and mechanical aids.
• Responsible for identification, tag out and requesting replacement of damaged tools and equipment.
• Accountable for maintaining compliance with the appropriate vehicle and machine operating licenses, high risk tickets and the like.
• Responsible for the compliant participation and processing of deliverables.
• Responsible for compliant disposal of generated waste streams.
• Responsible for appropriate reconciliation of unused goods and materials; credit and/ or return to stock.
• Accountable for compliant completion and interaction with Supervisors for:
o Safe work systems, procedural reviews and compliancy administration.
o All tyre / rim and wheel data record keeping systems and paperwork.
o Tyre / Rim / Wheel and consumable inventory management & monthly stock-takes.
o Site application monitoring including operating conditions, Tonnes-Kilometers-Per-Hour and Average Work Shift Speed.
o Maintenance efficiency strategies, work area housekeeping, tooling and equipment requirements.
o Planned / Un-planned tyre & rim maintenance including generation of regular work scopes including but not limited to; tyre replacements, rotations, run-out generation and rim certifications.
Selection Criteria – for qualified Tyre Fitter Role
• Relevant experience as a Tyre Fitter (for the qualified tyre fitter role)
• Demonstrated successful maintenance of an extensive range of HME, LV and ancillary equipment.
• Mechanical Trade Certificate desirable.
• All of the following desirable:
o AUR21916 Certificate II in Tyre Servicing for Heavy Duty Equipment
o AUR31116 Certificate II in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
o AURHTJ003 – Remove, inspect and refit heavy vehicle wheel and tyre assemblies.
• VOC and appropriate tickets for the operation of wheel loaders and tyre handling equipment.
• A valid C-Class Australian Driver’s Licence is required.
• A recent, valid, and clear National Police Clearance.
Selection Criteria
• Tyre fitting and wheel alignment experience would be an advantage
• Applicants must be well mannered, reliable and responsible with a good work ethic.
• A valid C-Class Australian Driver’s Licence is required.

Salary & Benefits
• Competitive annual salary and access to salary packaging providing tax benefits up to $18,550 per year.
• 4 Weeks Annual Leave with Leave Loading of 17.5%.
