Are you a qualified Telecommunications Civils Technicians experienced in Excavator Operations and Truck Driving looking for your next exciting career challenge to start in 2024? Then we have the opportunity for you working in our growing Civils team working on some exciting projects in Canberra.
All applicants must be Australian citizens and have the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance (NV1) in order for applications to be considered.
Our Civils team delivers a diverse range of telecommunications solutions for our clients and the role will expand your skills as well as build on your existing experience. In the role you will be a key part of our team to deliver a full range of other capabilities that will be taught during your employment. This may include fibre optic cable installation, manhole construction and installation, hydro excavation, skid steer operation and well as a range of different reinstatement solutions i.e paving, concreting and topsoil.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating plant and machinery (experience digging around underground utilities)
- Installation of telecommunications pits and conduits
- Installation of fibre optic cables
- Operating compaction tools and machinery
- General labouring as required - willingness to carry out multiple onsite duties.
- Correct and safe use of hand and power tools
- Reinstatement of job site (concrete, topsoil)
- Keeping site areas safe and tidy.
Qualifications/Experience
- Civil construction site experience and working as an all-rounder.
- Australian driver's license - ability to drive manual vehicles (preferred)
- Current MR or HR license is preferred.
- Excavator Ticket - Operation of a 5 -6 tonne excavator.
- Ability to excavate trenches for the installation of conduits, pipes or manholes.
- Fibre optic cable hauling.
- Pit and pipe installation.
- Working at Heights Ticket (desirable).
- General Induction White Card, Asbestos Awareness, Working with Asbestos and Silica Awareness tickets.
- Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance is essential.
