Trainee Mechanical Designer

Our Opportunity

Due to exponential growth, NEPEAN Longwall is currently seeking a Trainee Mechanical Designer to join our team. This opportunity is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Mackay, QLD. 

You 

• Creating component and assembly models based on technical specifications (Autodesk Inventor)
• Provide practical and engineered design solutions in consultations with lead engineers.
• Deliver designs according to required timeframes and in line with company procedures, regulations and client standards.
• Liaison with all internal and external customers concerning drafting/engineering solutions.
• Involvement from concept to install, including exposure to in-house fabrication workshop.
• Demonstrate a high standard of personal safety and safe design practices.

Future opportunities within the group may also present for the right candidate.

The Right Person

To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have:

• Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk Inventor.
• Exceptional design skills with the natural ability and initiative to solve problems.
• Excellent time management with a self-motivating attitude.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• 3+ years experience in a similair role. 
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Rights to work in Australia
