About you:

This position will report to the Safeworking and Traffic Management Coordinator and will be responsible for providing high quality, safe and consistent Traffic Control activities across various projects in the Pilbara.

The position requires someone with a high level of motivation and self-discipline, ensuring a strong commitment to health, safety, and quality to deliver on client expectations.

You will have the opportunity to assist the leadership team with quality assurance and compliance, ensuring systems of work and output meet KPI's and comply with company and client policies, drive a continual improvement mindset, and deliver on scheduling requirements.

About the role:

• This position is a causal role on an ad-hoc basis, depending on project requirements.

• We envision a February 2025 commencement.

• Residential to Karratha is preferred though FIFO may be considered for the right applicant.

• Travel to remote locations frequently is a requirement.

To be successful for this role, you must have:

• M1 Rail supervised worker card (Rio Tinto)

• Ability to pass a Category-3 Rail Medical

• White Card/Blue Card

• Hold a certification of accreditation for Basic Worksite Traffic Management & Traffic Controller.

• Current & Active Australian C-Class Drivers Licence

• Demonstrated at least 1 year of traffic control duties in a similar environment or industry (mining or civil)

• Sound understanding and high regard of health & safety obligations in accordance with legislation and client policies.

• A high degree of communication, organisational and problem-solving skills..

Your responsibilities will include:

• Direct and control traffic flow at designated locations, including intersections, construction sites, and events.

• Implement and enforce traffic control plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety guidelines.

• Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and coworkers to provide clear instructions and maintain a safe environment.

• Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control measures as necessary to optimize traffic flow and minimize congestion.

• Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.

• Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities, including incident reports and equipment usage.

• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.

• Stay updated on traffic control regulations, industry best practices, and new technologies to enhance performance and safety.
