Spectran Traffic Management is growing, and we are seeking Traffic Controllers to join our busy team. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Traffic Controllers to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and maintain safety across all industries. As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for directing and managing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, implementing traffic control plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and a strong commitment to public safety.

Responsibilities:
- Operating road signs, such as a Stop/Slow bat, and using hand signals to direct flow of traffic and pedestrians.
- Complete site checks and monitor traffic behaviour and/or flow to ensure safety is always maintained.
- Direct and control traffic flow at designated locations, including intersections, construction sites, and events.
- Implement and enforce traffic control plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and co-workers to provide clear instructions and maintain a safe environment.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control measures as necessary to optimise traffic flow and minimise congestion.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities, including incident reports and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.
- Stay updated on traffic control regulations, industry best practices, and new technologies to enhance performance and safety.
The ideal candidate
- Will have physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
- Be prepared to work varying shifts including days, nights, and weekends desirable.
- Strong knowledge of traffic control regulations, safety guidelines, and relevant equipment.
- Have a safety first mindset and good communication skills.
- Able to apply risk management processes
- Drive a manual vehicle with a current driverβs licence (desirable)
- Be able to use and respond to various apps on a smart phone or tablet
Qualifications:
- Preferred - RIISS00058 - Traffic Controller - Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TC1)
- Preferred - RIISS00060 - Traffic Management Implementer - Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI1)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- White Card - Construction Industry
- Traffic Tickets obtained in 2022 or 2023 (Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat & Implement Traffic Management Plan) desirable
