About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Support Officer (Mechanical) to support the delivery of innovative technical projects that enhance both teaching and research within the College of Science and Engineering. In this dynamic and rewarding position, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of innovative engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include the manufacture, commissioning, testing, maintenance, instruction, preparation, operation and documentation activities of specialised equipment.

About You
You are a technically proficient professional with a trade qualification in Fitting and Turning or Toolmaking, complemented by an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or an equivalent qualification). You will have sound experience with engineering tools and machines and will be highly proficient in the use of manual and numerically controlled machining methods suited to specific construction tasks. You bring a proven track record of independently developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialised mechanical equipment. You have a keen eye for detail, a solutions-focused mindset, and a strong customer service ethic.
