Our client is a growing civil contracting company servicing the mining & resources sector with various ongoing projects running nationwide. We have a new opportunity for an experienced FIFO Site based Supervisor.

You will have knowledge and experience in a diverse range of construction types, such as detailed earthworks, concreting, formwork and steel fixing. This is a working role where you will be leading through action.

Reporting directly to Company Directors, the successful candidate will act as a strong and positive example, demonstrating guidance and leadership at all times. You will be able to complete a project on time, focusing on quality and budget whilst ensuring and promoting a safe workplace.

A proven track record in establishing and delivering mine infrastructure construction activities is essential as is a team focus and inclusive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervision of 20-25 crew on site
  • Main point of contact on site for the project. Responsible for the financial, schedule and safety performance of their area of responsibility
  • Ensuring the provision of resources and support to enable the Project to function efficiently and effectively
  • Assist with the development and review of the Project budget.
  • Utilise existing business unit resources to ensure your project environmental, tenement and mining-related approvals for your project are completed in line with the project requirements.
  • Drive accountability for safety and environmental management both in design and construction through the line management
  • Regularly engage and provide detailed reporting through to the executive management team
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential problems and lead contingency plans.

Key Requirements:

  • C-class license is required
  • 3 years leading hand/supervisory experience in a similar role is necessary
  • Experience in detailed earth works, concrete and formwork
  • Strength in reading, interpreting & following plans
  • Quoting experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • Computer literacy skills using MS packages including excel & Project
  • Experience in concrete remediation would be an advantage
  • Front line management / Cert III Supervision would be an advantage
  • Carpentry background is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to supervise multi-disciplined workforce
  • Willingness to undertake training as required relevant to the position
