The Automotive Spray Booth Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and refinishing vehicles and vehicle parts to manufacturer and customer specifications.

This role ensures all paintwork achieves the highest standards of finish, colour accuracy, and durability, while meeting strict safety and environmental requirements.

Preparation & Application

• Prepare vehicles and parts for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning surfaces.

• Mix and match paints using digital or manual colour systems to ensure colour accuracy.

• Operate spray booth equipment to apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats.

• Apply refinishing techniques to repair panels, bumpers, and vehicle bodywork to a factory-level finish.

Quality & Compliance

• Inspect completed paintwork for accuracy, finish, and defects.

• Follow OEM (original equipment manufacturer) specifications, repair manuals, and job cards.

• Ensure compliance with WHS regulations, including safe use of hazardous chemicals and PPE.

• Adhere to environmental standards, including correct paint storage, waste disposal, and ventilation use.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Maintain spray booth, spray guns, and related refinishing tools in clean and operational condition.

• Conduct basic troubleshooting and report equipment faults.

• Ensure spray booth filters, air compressors, and ventilation systems are maintained as per standards.
