The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Technician - Mechanical, with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience preferably in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace or automotive industry. The role is responsible for performing production assembly and quality inspection operations to a high standard on complex parts with limited supervision using tools in accordance with production process data.

You'll be part of a growing production team, interfacing with some of the most advanced engineering manufacturing technology in the industry.

Position Duties


  • Perform production assembly and quality inspection operations.

  • Engage closely with Engineering and Production teams on First of Type assembly processes, capturing required assembly information to inform the evolution of production processes.

  • Understand and interpret production process data (e.g. Parts Manufacturing Information - PMI, Assembly work instructions, Commercial Specifications, Tools etc.).

  • Report issues and defects relating to production operations (including appropriately detailed supporting information) and follow non-conformity processes including performing rework order process operations when required.

  • Maintain accurate records and traceability of production process operations including inputs and outputs.

  • Perform verification process operations on input parts and assemblies using company and industry standard testing tools and approaches.

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to always ensure a safe working environment for self and others.

  • Collaborate with production team members to achieve DIFOT.

  • Maintain work centres and production areas to a high level of cleanliness.

  • Engage with engineering and production teams to provide feedback for production process data.

  • Assist in Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues at mechanical assembly work centres.

  • Perform required quality processes including checking and maintaining calibrated tools and equipment used in mechanical assembly work centre operations.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications.

• Minimum 5 years' experience, preferably in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace or automotive industry.

• Proven experience performing manual mechanical assembly.
