This opportunity is in our Caboolture Operation, located within the beautiful Moreton Bay Region of Queensland 44 kilometres north of Brisbane, on the doorstep to Bribie Island and the sensational Sunshine Coast and Hinterland.

We are currently seeking an experienced and trade qualified Site Services Coordinator (carpenter / builder / handy person) to join our team to work across our Caboolture Sawmill site.

This position will pay an integral role to oversee the carpentry and builder requirements, ensuring site appearance and buildings are maintained to the highest standards.  The role essentially suits carpenter/building/hand person to undertake general building maintenance duties.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Uphold the highest standards of site appearance and oversee current building repairs contractors
  • Communication with internal stakeholders to ensure the assigned tasks are completed to the standard required.
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools and maintain buildings across Caboolture operations.
  • Ensure public-facing areas are maintained to a standard that projects AKD as an industry leader.
  • Support the maintenance department by undertaking general building maintenance duties, including:
    • Building, office and common areas maintenance, repairs and improvements
    • Minor painting and plastering when required
    • General carpentry tasks
    • Minor plumbing repairs i.e. leaky taps, blocked toilets etc.
    • Reporting issues and progress on repairs and maintenance tasks so supervisors or relevant personnel.
  • Demonstrates experience with general maintenance and building repairs, minor plumbing, cleaning and other relevant trades
  • Hold ability to solve and fix problems
  • Have your own basic tools
  • Be available to work Saturdays as required.
  • Previous experience as Tradesperson or Handyman is essential
  • Sound knowledge and acceptance of Workplace Health and Safety Principles.
