We are seeking an experienced full-time Shop Fitter to join our Build Team at ABI Interiors’ Head Office on the Gold Coast. The ideal candidate will act as 2IC for our Build Team Leader and will be instrumental in manufacturing and installing our displays, showrooms, and tradeshow projects.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Interpret and implement shop drawings and technical documents.
  • Ensure all fittings and installations adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Build Team Leader, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Utilise a range of tools and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation or construction phases.
  • You will be responsible for the accurate installation and assembly of fixtures, fittings, and displays according to plans, specifications, and building scopes.
  • You will directly contribute to creating practical solutions for the wide variety of ongoing retail and trade projects at ABI Interiors.

About you:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Shop Fitter or in a similar role in the retail construction industry.
  • Proficiency in reading technical documents and shop drawings and adhering to a clear scope of work.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques and materials relevant to shop fitting.
  • CADD/CNC experience is favourable.
  • Experience creating cutting lists and using a panel saw.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel interstate at times to project sites
  • A forklift license and or heavy vehicle license is favourable but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other departments within the company
