MMT Recruitment is partnering with a major Australian agribusiness operating large-scale farming, feedmill and renewable energy facilities in regional Queensland.

We are seeking an experienced Motor/Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of fixed and mobile plant equipment across farm, feedmill and biogas operations.

This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically minded technician who enjoys variety, troubleshooting and working in a practical, production-focused environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on farm, feedmill and biogas plant equipment
  • Diagnose and repair diesel, petrol and gas engines (including diesel-to-gas conversions)
  • Service and maintain generators, pumps, valves, blowers and utility systems
  • Maintain vehicle fleet including utes, small trucks and heavy vehicles
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and 12V/24V electrical systems
  • Carry out welding, fabrication and piping repairs (MIG/ARC)
  • Complete safety documentation including JSAs, hot work permits and compliance paperwork
  • Support preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, Mobile Plant or similar
    (Or minimum 5+ years relevant full-time industry experience)
  • Strong experience with agricultural, industrial or heavy plant equipment
  • Solid diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical systems
  • Welding and fabrication capability
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently in a regional environment
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
