About the role: 

A key role reporting to the Operations Engineering Team Lead is responsible for executing engineering tasks and supporting operational requirements within a short-term (14-day) planning horizon, focusing on operational needs. This broad role focusing on delivering timely, cost-effective, and quality engineering solutions while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The position operates under the guidance of the Operations Engineering Lead aligning with broader organisational directives and operational goals.

Please note this role is on roster “One week of site-based work every three weeks, consisting of four days at standard site hours and one rostered day off (RDO)”.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HSE initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
• Provide expert mechanical and integrity engineering support for gas processing, water treatment, and wellsite facilities.
• Optimise and improve existing infrastructure to boost performance and manage lifecycle costs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and conduct root cause analysis to implement effective corrective actions.
• Perform fitness-for-service assessments and manage inspection data for critical equipment.
• Mentor and supervise junior Mechanical Integrity Engineers, fostering their technical development.
• Maintain accurate equipment and system documentation, ensuring clear communication of engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate across teams and represent operations in project reviews to achieve shared goals.

What will you bring?

You will role model Origin’s values, be self-driven, with ability to be proactive and take initiative. A team player with ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people across levels, building positive, productive working relationships.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or equivalent Engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in mechanical or integrity engineering, ideally in operational or maintenance support.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is essential.
• Proven ability to deliver practical engineering solutions under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, failure modes, and asset integrity strategies.
• Experienced in Australian and International Welding Standards and NDT techniques.
• Hands-on experience with operations, maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting in industrial settings.
• Proficient in fitness-for-service assessments and operational engineering practices
