We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Sydney team, where you’ll play a key role in leading the technical delivery of major water infrastructure programs.

The Opportunity

This is a senior role where your technical knowledge, client engagement, and delivery expertise will shape both projects and people. Whether you are operating at Professional, Senior or Associate level, we will tailor the opportunity to align with your strengths, leadership experience, and career ambitions.

In this role, you will:

  • Support or lead the technical delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Provide mechanical and hydraulic design across the full project lifecycle,  including D&C projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, influencing technical decisions and delivering high-value outcomes
  • Ensure high-quality technical documentation and design deliverables are produced and met
  • Drive design management across multiple projects and program work packages
  • Contribute to bids, proposals, and strategic pursuits to secure future work
  • Mentor and develop graduate engineers, fostering technical capability across teams
  • Collaborate across local and national teams to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions

 

 

About You

You’re a technically strong and commercially aware Mechanical Engineer bringing:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status (or working towards it)
  • Experience (typically 6+ years) within engineering consultancy, contractor, or asset owner environments
  • Strong background in water infrastructure and treatment systems
  • Proven experience in the design and delivery of complex projects and programs
  • Expertise in hydraulic design (e.g. pump stations, water utilities), with exposure to CFD or pipe stress analysis advantageous
  • Demonstrated capability in equipment selection, specification, and system optimisation
  • Experience with stress analysis tools and/or analytical methods
  • Familiarity with Plant 3D or Inventor (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of CHAIR, HAZOP, and Safety-in-Design principles
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence clients and stakeholders
