Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Fresh out of uni or a few years in and ready for more? Benmax is looking for a Mechanical Engineering graduate (less than five years’ experience) to join our Sydney team and get stuck into real work from day one.

You’ll be working on commercial and industrial HVAC projects that have won industry recognition, alongside experienced engineers and project managers who genuinely want to see you grow. No being thrown in the deep end and left to figure it out.

We’re fully onsite at our office in Sydney, Monday to Friday, because we think the best way to learn is alongside people who’ve been doing it for years. You’ll get dedicated one-on-one time with senior engineers who are there to help you grow, not ones who are too busy to talk.

What you’ll do

You’ll be contributing to real projects from the start, with senior engineers alongside you every day to guide, review your work and help you build confidence as you go.

Day to day, that looks like:

• Running engineering calculations, concept layouts and equipment selection
• Supporting project planning, budgets, documentation and QA
• Applying industry codes and standards (with guidance while you’re finding your feet)
• Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, including reviewing options and supporting procurement
• Using Procore and other tools to manage project workflows and reporting

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is flexible, prepared to learn, listens well and wants to grow. Your attitude matters as much as your technical skills.

Essential

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or Diploma of Engineering (Technical/Mechanical)
• Recent graduate (0-5 years’ experience)
• Eligibility to obtain an AGSVA security clearance

Desirable

• Exposure to engineering or construction projects
• Familiarity with tools such as Python, Camel, or Procore
• Working toward Engineers Australia Chartered status
