What you will be doing
About
the Role
We
are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering &
Construction team, supporting the delivery of complex water and wastewater
infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning.
In
this role, you will provide mechanical design leadership across multiple
project phases, ensuring designs are technically robust, compliant with
Australian standards, and aligned with project requirements. You will work
closely with multidisciplinary teams, supporting design coordination,
construction activities, and commissioning to ensure successful project
outcomes.
You
will also play a key role in reviewing designs, managing vendor and
subcontractor inputs, and supporting site-based engineering activities,
ensuring quality, safety, and performance expectations are consistently met.
About
You
You
are an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the design
and delivery of water or wastewater infrastructure projects. You enjoy working
across the full project lifecycle and bring a practical, solutions-focused
mindset to engineering challenges.
You
are confident collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and have strong
communication skills that allow you to engage effectively with internal
stakeholders, clients, and suppliers. You are detail-oriented, commercially
aware, and capable of balancing technical requirements with project timelines
and constraints.
Who we are looking for
What
You’ll Bring
Mechanical Engineering degree with 5+ years’ design experience (including Australian water projects)
Strong capability in P&IDs, mechanical layouts, and equipment selection
Strong capability across design, construction, and commissioning of
pipelines, pump stations, or treatment systems
Experience working within highly regulated environments (WSA,
Australian Standards, client specifications)
Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, contractors,
and vendors
Experience contributing to HAZOP / Safety in Design and risk-based
engineering decisions
Highly regarded: Chartered / NER / RPEQ and
experience supporting FAT/SAT and vendor management
