We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineering professional to provide senior level expertise across complex design and delivery initiatives. In this role, you will support the planning and coordination of intricate engineering assignments, ensuring all technical specifications and detailed design requirements are effectively developed and executed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and recommend design methods, specifications and performance of functional requirements for new projects. 

  • Help resolve technically complex design challenges.

  • Supply drafting staff with information necessary to produce detailed drawings. 

  • Carry out site inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation, construction and commissioning of assigned work. 

  • Ensure project time and cost KPI’s are met, monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements and review compliance with project execution plan (schedule) and client expectations. 

  • Contribute to periodic reporting e.g. Project progress, resource requirements, Project budget versus cost, priorities, allocation of work, team needs. 

  • Ensure checking and review processes are completed. Review designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes, Australian / International Standards and Sedgman Standards. 

  • Provide engineering support to the project teams in line with management direction whilst maximising individual and teams utilisation. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)

 

Essential knowledge and experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a design, consultancy or operational engineering role.
  • Strong background in the mining and mineral processing sector.
  • Strong technical understanding and competence in piping design and layout within mining and mineral processing environments.

  • Proven experience supporting and mentoring technical/project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues or escalate as required.
