THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical and Piping Engineer
to join our dynamic team in Perth, Western Australia. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality engineering work, including calculations, design reviews, and documentation. They support project planning, liaise with clients and suppliers, and contribute to progress tracking and procedural improvements. The role ensures engineering outputs meet required standards for safety, quality, schedule, and budget within a collaborative project environment.
You will work on client projects critical to current and future energy needs including:
- Brownfield modifications of offshore assets to ensure future reliable operation
- Renewable hydrogen project development
- Compression stations to ensure Australian energy grid resilience
- LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) developments to boost energy security

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, check and sign off technical documentation, including design calculations, datasheets, equipment specifications, and material requisitions.
- Prepare and review Material Take-Offs (MTOs),Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), and technical specifications.
- Engineering input, checking and sign off for design deliverables (documents and drawings)
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, API, ISO, etc.).
- Assist Lead Engineer in completing budget and schedule estimates as well as reports
- Provide guidance, technical direction and supervision for Junior Engineers
- Assist Lead Engineer to update progress percentage, forecast manhours and forecast completion dates for all the deliverables that you are managing.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of company procedures for discipline engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical) with a minimum of 8 years post graduate Mechanical Engineering discipline work experience.
- Minimum 6-10 years’ experience working with Tier 1 Oil and Gas operations with in-depth
knowledge of piping engineering, design, and stress analysis in oil & gas projects
(significant experience in stress analysis and checking designs for stress critical systems is highly preferable).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Engineering systems and effective application of engineering principles
- Strong Microsoft Office Application Tools (Visio, word, advanced Excel preferred)
- Advanced user of CAESAR II and other engineering tools for stress and flexibility
analysis.
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, API,
ISO).
- Competent in using Navisworks freedom
